Service reviews, handled separately

Your sales reputation should not be collateral damage from the service drive. We triage every review by department and route it to the right play.

The stakes

Why reviews decide dealership revenue

Below it, your inventory drops in lead-priority rankings.

Service reviews

Service-department reviews shape whole-dealership perception. We manage both.

How buyers decide

When a car buyer decides which lot to visit

Buyers do most of the deal online before they visit. The crisis card above puts the Cars.com preferred-placement cutoff at 4.5 stars, and below it your inventory drops in the lead rankings buyers see first.

  1. 01

    The is-it-worth-the-drive check

Buyers find the vehicle on Cars.com or CarGurus, then check Google before choosing which lot to visit. A profile whose newest review describes hidden fees or a bait-and-switch loses the visit before the salesperson knows the buyer exists.

  2. 02

    The finance-office fear

Reviews about the finance office, add-ons and paperwork are read by every buyer who has been burned before. A review that says 'they changed the numbers at signing' is the one that gets screenshotted and shared.

  3. 03

    The service spillover

The crisis card above notes service reviews shape showroom trust. A one-star about a repair estimate lands on the same profile as your sales reviews, and buyers do not separate the two.

How we calculate this
  • Star-rating drag on click-through tapers and caps at 18%. Negative sentiment is scored as a share of your total review volume and caps at 20%. Both compound, then apply only to the ~55% of buyers who read reviews and act on them.
  • Money is shown as estimated gross profit using the labeled estimate margin listed below.
  • Benchmarks for auto dealers come from the published sources listed below.
  • Estimates only. Every market is different.

What the number above means

Gross-profit math for a dealership

The crisis card above puts average gross per abandoned test drive at $450, and the front-end gross is only part of it. Every unit that sells elsewhere takes its finance income and its future service revenue with it.

  • Reviews from people who never purchased, from the buyer's friend who was not present, or from a competing store's staff are all common and reportable.
  • Reviews that name a salesperson with accusations of lying or discrimination are a harassment matter under platform rules, and they follow that employee to their next store.
  • Enter your average gross per unit including finance and insurance income into the calculator above to see what one lost visit costs.

Instant Slack, SMS, and email alerts the moment any auto dealers location is reviewed, so nothing simmers before you can respond.

AI-Assisted, Brand-Voice Responses

ToS-Compliant Removal Escalations

We identify defamatory, fake, or ToS-violating reviews and drive them through a documented appeal, escalation, and legal-referral pipeline.

Review Generation That Converts

Post-visit review invitations timed to your auto dealers workflow: automated, personal, and consent-based.

Buyer psychology

What earns buyer trust in auto dealers

When choosing a dealership, consumers weigh authentic, high-volume reviews as the deciding signal between you and a competitor a single click away.

Recency wins

Buyers weigh reviews from the last 90 days most heavily. A stale 5-star profile still loses to a competitor with fresh momentum in auto dealers.

Volume signals safety

Prospects use raw review count as a proxy for legitimacy. Below 25 reviews, most local buyers filter your listing out entirely.

Response builds trust

How you respond to a 1-star review says more than the review itself. Silence reads as guilt, measured accountability reads as leadership.

One bad review, filtered forever

A single unaddressed 1-star can suppress auto dealers local pack rankings and cut click-through by 30% or more.

Compliance-first

ToS-aligned, defensible growth for auto dealers

Every workflow, from response to removal filing, is built to keep your Auto Dealers business on the right side of platform policy and consumer-protection law. We never post fake reviews, incentivize ratings, or violate directory terms.

The rules that apply to you

What the platforms and regulators actually say about auto dealers

Every statement below is sourced. Read them before you decide how to handle a review.

Gross per unit

One lost deal is measured in gross profit, not sticker price

NADA's annual financial profile reports dealership gross profit per unit sold, front and back combined. That is the figure a single review-driven walk-away costs a dealership, and it is what the calculator above uses rather than the vehicle price.

Source: NADA, 2024

Conflict of interest

Reviews from a competing store's staff break policy outright

Google's policy prohibits contributions posted to hurt a competitor, and reviews by employees of a rival dealership fall squarely inside the conflict-of-interest and fake-engagement grounds.

Source: Google Maps Help

16 CFR Part 465

Buying reviews to bury a bad one is a federal violation, not a shortcut

Since October 21, 2024 the FTC rule on consumer reviews bans fake reviews, insider reviews presented as customer reviews, and paying for positive or negative reviews, with civil penalties available per violation. For a dealership that leaves two lawful moves: earn real reviews, and report the ones that break platform policy.

Source: U.S. Federal Trade Commission, 2024

Policy grounds only

Google removes reviews that break a policy, not reviews you dislike

Google's own help documentation says any review can be reported but only content that violates its policies is eligible for removal. That is why a case starts by matching the wording to a named policy: fake engagement, off topic, impersonation, harassment, personal information or conflict of interest.

Timeline

What happens after a dealership opens a removal case

Nothing here is a promise of removal, because that decision belongs to the platform. Most Google removals take 7–21 days; Yelp and other platforms typically take 60–90 days. Complex cases use a Custom Care Plan with their own timeline.

  1. Day 0 · Free scan and eligibility read

We pull the live review or page from Google and DealerRater and Cars.com, quote it verbatim, and say which policy it breaks. If nothing breaks a rule we say so and take no fee.

  2. Days 1-3 · Filing with the deal record

Deal jackets, service tickets and CRM records show whether the reviewer transacted at all. Reviews from declined credit applications and from a competing store's staff are the two most common reportable patterns.

  3. Platform moderation

Google evaluates reports against its prohibited and restricted content policy; most Google removals take 7–21 days. Yelp and other platforms typically take 60–90 days. The platform decides the timing.

  4. Days 10-21 · Appeal where the first report is declined

A declined report is not the end. Google provides an appeal route for reviews it decides to keep, and a second filing that cites a different policy ground and better evidence is often what moves it.

  5. Day 30 (Google) / Day 90 (Yelp & other platforms): refund deadline

Upfront fees are refunded after our review if a Google review is not removed within 30 days of payment, or a Yelp review or other-platform item is not removed within 90 days. No claim or form is required. Refunds are issued within 5 business days of the deadline.

Before you start

What a dealership needs before starting a removal

The start form takes a few minutes if you have these four things in front of you. Nothing else is required to open the case.

  1. The exact link to the review or page

On Google, open the review, use the three-dot menu and choose Share to copy its direct link. On Yelp, use the share icon under the review. For a harmful page, paste the full URL from the address bar.

  2. Your business name exactly as it appears on the profile

Use the store name from the Google listing. Dealerships with separate sales and service listings need the case opened on the one that carries the review.

  3. Why the item breaks the platform's rules

One or two sentences is enough. Typical grounds for a dealership: the reviewer never bought or serviced a vehicle with you, the review is about a different store in the group, a competitor or former employee posted it, or it accuses a named salesperson of fraud with nothing behind it.

  4. Your preferred payment option

Pay upfront: $397 for Google, $697 for Yelp, or $497 for another site or harmful link. Pay upon removal: save a card, pay $0 today, and pay $50 more per item only once each removal is documented. No refund term applies because nothing is charged before removal. Pay upfront. If the specific Google review is not removed within 30 days of payment, or a Yelp review or other-platform item is not removed within 90 days of payment, we refund the removal fee to your original payment method. No claim or form needed. We review and issue it within 5 business days.

Auto Dealers review removal FAQs

Can a dealership remove a review from someone who never bought a vehicle?+

Yes, when the review describes a purchase or service that never happened. We document the absence of a deal jacket, repair order or customer record and file under the genuine-experience policy. A person who visited and left without buying did have an experience, so those reviews are judged on other grounds.

A review names one of our salespeople and calls them a liar. Is that removable?+

Reviews that attack a named individual with accusations they do not support are reportable as harassment on Google and Yelp. The report quotes the specific language. Whether it comes down is the platform's decision, and for upfront payment, the applicable 30-day Google or 90-day Yelp refund applies if the review remains live.

Do you remove reviews on DealerRater or Cars.com?+

Self-serve removal covers Google at $397, Yelp at $697 and harmful links at $497. Dealer review sites have their own dispute processes, some useful and some not, and we walk through them in a consultation rather than taking a fee for a filing that has no path.

How long does auto dealers review removal typically take?+

Most Google removals: 7–21 days. Yelp and other platforms: typically 60–90 days. The platform decides the timing. Complex cases involving defamation, legal escalation, coordinated attacks, or many items across platforms are quoted individually through the Custom Care Plan, with their own timeline.

Do you remove legitimate negative reviews?+

No. We only pursue reviews that violate a platform's Terms of Service: fake, off-topic, defamatory, extortive, or conflict-of-interest. Legitimate complaints are addressed via a response strategy, not deletion.

Is this compliant with FTC and platform policy?+

Yes. Every workflow (outreach, invitations, responses, removal appeals) is aligned with the FTC Endorsement Guides and each platform's ToS. We keep audit-ready logs of every action.

What does auto dealers review removal cost?+

Pay upfront: $397 Google, $697 Yelp, or $497 other sites and harmful links.

What if a removal request is denied?+

We escalate through documented appeal channels. Upfront fees are refunded after our review if a Google review is not removed within 30 days of payment, or a Yelp review or other-platform item is not removed within 90 days. Pay upon removal: save a card, pay $0 today, and pay $50 more per item only once each removal is documented. No refund term applies because nothing is charged before removal.
